Socio-Pragmatic Study of Bani Hasan Tribe’s Proverbs and Dialectical Expressions in Jordan

The Arabic dialects have a specific linguistic repertoire, cultural singularity and social privacy. dialect is only understood by the people who daily use it. This study aims at shedding light on proverbs dialectical expressions used Bani Hasan tribe (بني حسن) in Jordan. primary were to investigate Illocutionary force of targeted based speech acts theoretical framework. data collected from various individuals represent whole 13 clans this tribe. investigated consist 14 59 expressions. Findings showed that has some unique lexemes. illocutionary are provided well as meaning pronunciation frequent idiomatic colloquial discussed. Analysis revealed most pragmatic functions giving advice criticism. could help others more knowledge about lexicon which helps enforce bonds among tribes Jordanian society.
